Movie Review: Friday the 13th Part 2

Friday the 13th Part 2

Wow, this is terrible. I have never seen a movie do so well from their first movie and the sequel be this bad. We start off this movie with a recap of the first movie and only the survivor of Crystal Camp, which was then killed by Jason, and this time we can actually see Jason in the movie and not just his hands. Most of the stuff in this movie just doesn't make sense, and it's horribly done, such as why do Sandra and Jeff want to go to Crystal Camp after hearing all those sorties? I guess they want a death wish, and also, what happened to all the other 15 campers with them? They just disappeared from the movie.

Going into this movie, I had higher expectations, such as at least getting better and crazier kills than the first movie, which I don't know how, but they have made it worse. For example, when Scott was tied up, I felt like that kill could've been way better than just some boring throat slits. One of the kills that was okay to me was when Mark died because of the out-of-nowhere machete to the face and him tumbling down the stairs. Other than that, there weren't any more good kills, and some of them were done off screen, which is a thing I hugely despise in movies.

Don't even get me started on Jason in this movie. He looks super clumsy and just weak, like this is supposed to be an older Jason in his prime, and we get a weak Jason that's scared of these kids who are weaker than him, but I like his new look. Ginny is probably the smartest out of all of them and the one who has the most knowledge about Jason and his motives, and it was really smart of her to act like Jason's mom by wearing her sweater and talking to him like his mom. They escaped Jason by stabbing him and got back to the cabin, and then we see Jason's face after he smashed through the window without his mask, and holy cow, he's super ugly and really deformed. Then we just flash to Ginny getting carried into an ambulance truck, which was confusing, and what happened to everybody else? Nothing made sense, and overall, this is not a good movie.
