Movie Review: Taken
Taken
We start off the movie by seeing a father, Bryan Mills, going to his daughter's birthday, and it's kind of awkward at first since he's disengaged with his wife and had to watch another rich guy take his place. We find out that he's retired from his job, which was working for the government, to get closer and spend more time with his daughter. She plans a trip to go on with her friend Amanda, and you can say that he's somewhat of an overprotective dad, but it's because he's been through so much that he's aware of stuff, but then he agrees to it. They run into some random, sketchy guy who offers them to hop into his taxi since it's expensive. Long story short, Peter helped get them kidnapped and human trafficked.
That's the whole plot of the film, and we see Bryan going to go get his daughter back while cruising through insane scenarios. One of the coldest lines in this movie is when Bryan says to the kidnapper who has the phone, "I will find you and I will kill you," which honestly gave me goosebumps. Bryan is really smart, and his every move is tactical. For example, the way he found Marko, the guy with him on the phone, was that he gave him the phrase "good luck" to translate to see if he had the same voice and stuff, which is something only someone out of the ordinary would think of. Bryan finds out that his friend is involved with the Albanians in this business and is willing to work with them as long as he gets paid, which is why he was so optimistic about helping him with his mission and ordered the government to track him down and try to catch him.
The movie ends with Bryan finding out where his daughter was after she was sold, and he goes insane while showcasing amazing action sequences. After saving her, they go back home, where he takes her to the famous singer so she can pursue her singing career. This movie was really fun and enjoyable to watch. I was interested in the Entity movie; the action was amazing, and it kept me on my feet the entire time. Overall, it was a good movie that everyone should give a try.
